myMONSTER TCS

myMONSTER Telco Communicator Suite (TCS) is a telecommunication package from the myMONSTER toolkit, is being developed at the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS in cooperation with the associated university chair AV (Architektur der Vermittlungsknoten) at the Technische Universität Berlin. TCS enables software developers to create feature-rich client communications applications for Next Generation and Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN). The myMONSTER TCS kit enables 3GPP IMS and Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) service enabler access as Presence, XML Document Management (XDM), SIMPLE IM-based instant messaging, and many other functions.

Advanced Features (Add-ons)

Network Access for Evolved Paket Core

A special myMONSTER TCS module for the OpenEPC core provides the S14 Protocol implementation to communicate with the ANDSF (Access Network Discovery and Selection Function) and will control the network interfaces according to the delivered policies. This enables handovers between packet based networks.

Peer-2-Peer

A P2P add-on, developed within the European VITAL++ project, enriches myMONSTER with P2P functionality in order to enable scalable multimedia content distribution. The P2P add-on supports classic file sharing, Video-on-Demand (VoD) and live streaming implemented by using the BitTorrent protocol and enables even network and capacity limited devices to serve a broad audience with multimedia content

Emergency

The myMONSTER emergency services extensions overcome the "problem of the caller location" within all IP networks. The location of the device is covered and inserted in the message flow so that the network can map the service request to the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The development is performed under the umbrella of the PEACE European Project and is geared toward operators and safety organizations who have already started (or will start soon) the migration of their current emergency system to Next Generation Networks.
